Nathan Benedict joined Ewing & Clark with a focus on restaurant, nightclub, and retail sales and leasing, as well as on re-development opportunities with a special focus on the Pike-Pine neighborhood. He has since expanded into all areas of Greater Seattle, and works with investors and developers to meet their real estate needs. Before working at Ewing and Clark, he owned and operated Thumper’s Restaurant and Bar on Capitol Hill for over 20 years with his longtime partner, Steve Nyman. Previous to Thumper’s, Nathan and Steve owned another restaurant, The Inside Passage, in what is now known as the Melrose Market block. With a long history of owning small businesses as well as personally owning commercial real estate with his partner, he is very knowledgeable of the needs and challenges facing small business people. Prior to the restaurant business, Nathan was an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Nevada, Reno where he taught both undergraduate and graduate classes, and carried out research programs for both the National Park Service and the National Forest Service.
