Bio
A self-described “life enthusiast,” Neil Porter is a gifted marketer, analyst and negotiator with over 15 years of experience helping buyers and sellers realize their real estate goals in the greatest city in the world.
Now a veteran of more than 150 sales, Neil’s first career was in publishing - initially as a journalist, and later the editor-publisher of a boutique publishing firm. He delights in pairing up punchy phrases and images, and confecting attention-getting marketing campaigns - whether they be via mailers, social media posts, or his popular e-newsletter, The R.E. Porter.
Neil thrives on cultivating his connections with other brokers. These hard-earned relationships can give his clients an edge when he is representing buyers in a competitive-bidding situation. They are also key when calling around for inside intel on in-contract listings while working up pricing for a seller before launching a new listing.
As founder of The Neil Porter Team, Neil has staff to handle a variety of sales initiatives at once. He also has a suite of time-tested attorneys, lenders, contractors, inspectors, movers and other professionals ready to step in at the appropriate phase a of a given transaction.
An avid swimmer originally from Venice, California, Neil received his B.A. degree with a double major in English and Communications and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania. Neil lived for two years in Madrid, Spain, and visits family in Brazil multiple times a year. He lives in South Harlem with his wife and daughter.
