Norman Jemal is responsible for over-seeing the entire portfolio and setting strategic direction. He directly supervises all capital markets and development activity as well as directing asset management, acquisitions and dispositions, and corporate strategic planning. He has closed an $9.5 billion in commercial real estate transactions across the multifamily, hospitality, office, retail, industrial, self storage and medical sectors. Norman joined Douglas Development Corp. in 1993 where he was instrumental in directing the company’s leasing activities. Over time, he has guided the company through its growth and market expansions while navigating though volatile market cycles. Norman directs Norman has gained national recognition as an authority in Commercial Real Estate for his innovation and ability to execute. His track record is defined by flagship historic conversions including the M&T Bank building in Syracuse (now the Treasury Apartments) and the Central National Bank building in Richmond (Now Deco at CNB), as well as strategically positioned hospitality like the downtown DC AC Hotel and the Canal House hotel. Norman currently sits on the Board of Trustees for Ford’s Theatre and on the Board of Directors for the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID). He previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Washington, DC Economic Partnership, the Little Blue House, and United Bank. Norman has frequently been named to Commercial Observer’s DC Power list.
