At the tender age of 21 and really not knowing what to do in terms of a career and Life I guess I basically fell into Estate Agency by chance. I was playing football for a local team and one of the players in my team was a solicitor. He thought I would make a good estate agent and recommended I contact a local company with whom he had connections. I did and in 1988 I started out as a trainee negotiator learning my trade so to speak. Within 18 months I was managing my first branch and managing staff which as you can imagine was a whole new experience in itself and rather scary at times. As I absolutely love the property industry in Feb 1997 after 9 very successful working for a corporate, I opened the doors of Able Estates alongside my sister and best friend Peter Jones - the rest as they say is history. In the 22 years of trading there have been many changes both with legislation and thanks to the internet, how properties are marketed. However, one thing remains the same, Ables Ethos – treat everybody how you would expect to be treated. The job itself is just as busy as ever but at the same just as rewarding. Selling or Letting a client’s property and seeing them move on to pastures new is a great feeling and equally rewarding when handing over keys to buyers and tenants new home.
