Bio
Peter Caruso is a Managing Director for the Chicago JLL office. Prior to his role as Managing Director, Peter was the Agency Leasing Lead for the Chicago/Midwest Market, where he was responsible for the administration and management of retail brokers and provided strategic planning and evaluation of remerchandising and redevelopment of properties. He has a strong knowledge of marketing, development and management to better assist clients in achieving their overall asset and corporate goals. His success and strong experience in agency leasing has enabled him to develop and maintain significant client relationships at the national, regional and local level.
Peter has nearly twenty years of diverse real estate knowledge in property leasing, acquisition, due diligence, valuation, lease restructuring and tenant representation. He has wide-reaching experience as a real estate advisor to retailers, attorneys, lenders and restructuring professionals. During his career, he has represented national retailers in rollouts throughout the Chicago MSA as well as lease-related services with local developers and institutional buyers.
Since joining JLL in 2013, Peter helped build JLL’s agency leasing portfolio to over 150 projects that total over 5 million square feet. The portfolio ranges from ground-up developments to neighborhood, office, power and lifestyle centers. His representative clients include 601W Properties, Acadia Realty Trust, Beacon Capital, LaSalle Investment Management, Spaulding & Sly, CIM Group, JP Morgan, Pontegadea, Park Hyatt Chicago, PGIM, Morgan Stanley, Hartz Mountain Industries, Madison Capital, Habitat, Slate, Starwood Retail Partners, US Ivanhoe-Cambridge, Allstate, MetLife, Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, Host Hotels, AEW Capital Management, Edwards Realty Company and GLL Real Estate Partners.
