Peter A. Tropoli serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Whitestone REIT, a publicly traded REIT focused on open-air, community-centered retail properties in high-growth Sun Belt markets. In his current role, Tropoli is responsible for overseeing Whitestone’s legal affairs, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and board administration. His responsibilities include advising the executive team and Board of Trustees on legal and fiduciary matters, managing public company governance requirements, and supporting strategic initiatives and transactions from a legal and compliance perspective. Tropoli has served as General Counsel since 2019 and was appointed Corporate Secretary in 2022, following a series of leadership transitions aimed at strengthening Whitestone’s governance framework.
Prior to joining Whitestone REIT, Tropoli spent nearly two decades in senior executive and legal leadership roles at Luby’s, Inc., a NYSE-listed restaurant operating company. During his tenure at Luby’s, he served as Chief Operating Officer (2011–2018), General Counsel (2001–2011), Corporate Secretary (2006–2011), and as a member of the Board of Directors (2014–2019). In these roles, he oversaw legal operations, corporate governance, and day-to-day business operations, providing broad executive-level exposure across public company management. His career reflects extensive experience in public company governance, legal oversight, and executive leadership prior to transitioning to the REIT sector.
