Bio
Randy Johnson is the President and CEO of Johnson Hospitality, a hotel ownership, development, and management company headquartered in Danville, California. He co-founded the firm with his father, Ron Johnson, in 1999, and has since led its growth into a high-performing portfolio of Marriott and Hilton branded hotels across multiple states. Under his leadership, Johnson Hospitality has become recognized for operational excellence, strategic development, and strong financial performance.
Randy specializes in business strategy, investment analysis, hotel operations, asset management, and ownership services. He spearheaded the development and opening of the company’s first property, Courtyard Palo Alto–Los Altos, in 2002, and later led the successful launch of SpringHill Suites Napa Valley in 2009, which earned Marriott International’s Opening General Manager of the Year and Opening Sales Team of the Year awards. He has overseen multiple ventures, including partnerships with InfiniPower Hospitality, resulting in acquisitions and developments such as Fairfield Inn Rancho Cordova and Residence Inn & Fairfield Inn North San Jose. Over a five-year period, the managed portfolio doubled in size under his guidance.
Before founding Johnson Hospitality, Randy worked as a Senior Associate at HVS International (1997–2000), where he conducted appraisals and feasibility studies for over forty lodging facilities in sixteen states and assisted in assignments requiring expert testimony for property tax assessment disputes and ground rent arbitration.
Randy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University, with an academic concentration in finance. He also serves on the board of the San Mateo County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
