Richard Selig is Managing Principal of the New York City offices of Cresa. During his 40+ years of commercial real estate experience, he joined Helmsley Spear in 1981 where he represented Landlords, such as Helmsley Spear, and SL Green as their exclusive leasing agent and tenants . He also became Direct of Leasing, responsible for co-management of the corporate office and officer at Helmsley Noyes. In 1997 he and Peter E. Sabesan started The Hunter Realty Organization which they later bought the New York City franchise of Coldwell Banker Commercial. As a Landlord representative, he was the exclusive agent for major office buildings. As a tenant representative, he represented a diverse client list which included many of the top names in the Securities, Insurance, and Law.
A 35-year+ veteran of the industry, Richard has a proven track record of success and has closed millions of square feet in transactions on behalf of his clients. Specializing in both landlord agency and tenant representation, Richard has been responsible for leasing to such Fortune 500 companies as Paine Webber, Dewey Ballantine, HSBC, First Boston, Credit Suisse, and New York Mercantile Exchange.
Regarded as one of New York City's most experienced and respected commercial real estate professionals and combined with his vast knowledge of the complexities of the New York City office market, Richard is especially adept at securing the best-suited locations for all different types of tenants.
