Robert Hodge is Managing Director, Capital Markets of Marcus & Millichap, operating out of the South Bay Office in El Segundo, California. Since joining Marcus & Millichap Capital Corporation (MMCC) in 2008, Mr. Hodge has established himself as a highly passionate and dedicated commercial real estate professional. He is committed to building long-lasting relationships within the commercial real estate sector by partnering with his clients to deliver real business value as their trusted capital markets advisor in acquisitions, depositions, financing, and 1031 exchange transactions.
Background
Specializing in structuring debt and equity financing for multifamily, net lease, and commercial properties nationwide, Mr. Hodge has cultivated robust relationships with national and regional capital sources. These include Federal Agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD/FHA, SBA, USDA), commercial banks, CMBS, life insurance companies, credit unions, debt funds, bridge lenders, hard money lenders, and preferred/joint venture equity providers. Hodge excels in the private client market by forging deep client relationships through unparalleled market knowledge and transactional expertise. He maximizes client value by providing custom-fit services tailored to the specific needs of each property owner. Prior to joining MMCC, Mr. Hodge was instrumental in establishing a commercial mortgage company in Los Angeles, where he served as Managing Director, overseeing debt placement for multifamily, retail, office, and industrial properties.

With over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, Mr. Hodge has successfully placed more than $1 billion in debt transactions. His exemplary performance at Marcus & Millichap has earned him the prestigious National Achievement Award in 2018, 2019, and 2020, as well as the Sales Recognition Award in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2017, Mr. Hodge was inducted into Marcus & Millichap’s 35th Annual Senior Investment Associate Ceremony (SIA) and gained membership into the exclusive Seven Figure Club. Hodge is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of Industrial & Office Properties (NAIOP) and Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). He serves as a Capital Markets Advisor for Marcus & Millichap’s Retail Division, Net Lease Division, and Multi-Housing Division.
Education
Robert Hodge graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.A. in Communication. As an accomplished collegiate football player excelling at the quarterback position, his hard work, dedication, and leadership helped his teams win championships at every level. He was named South Bay Player of the Year at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, CA, California Player of the Year, and a two-time All-American at El Camino College in Torrance, CA. At the University of Colorado Boulder, he was a Big XII Champion in 2001 and the Chevrolet Player of the Game in 2002, leading the Colorado Buffaloes to victory over Kansas State en route to a Big XII North Championship.
