Bio
Robert Wickham is the senior partner and heads up the Planning & Valuation Departments. The practices cover matters throughout the United Kingdom and on occasions abroad as well. The department is involved in town and village expansion schemes, infrastructure projects and general planning and development of residential and commercial properties. Recently, the practices successfully obtained planning consent for new infrastructure and several hundred homes in Oxfordshire. At the same time, one of the areas of specialism involves listed buildings and sensitive developments in conservation areas and the adaptation of historic buildings. All these projects involve a variety of skills within the group practice involving planning design, economics, and agency. Howard Sharp & Partners has a well known record going back to pre-war years in planning advocacy and the organisation and presentation of cases at Hearings and Enquiries. Key Qualifications Robert is a Chartered Town Planner and Charter Surveyor. After graduating from Cambridge, where he held on of twenty Trevelyan scholarships awarded between Oxford and Cambridge he was recommended for a research degree having obtained firsts in several final papers. He continued his interest in land economics at University College London, obtaining a Masters Degree and subsequently was awarded a Doctorate, again within the field of land economics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and has lectured at universities and for professional organisations. The most recent publications include and IEA paper o the housing crisis and a further paper on the development of integrated communities. Currently, his research is into the application of a discovery theory within the business and spatial economy.
