Rodney Richerson is Managing Principal at Sterling Bay, leading the firm’s West Coast division, Sterling Bay | West, from Newport Beach, California. In his current role, Richerson is responsible for sourcing and closing new acquisitions and development projects across the Western United States, including office, multifamily, and life science conversions. He also serves on Sterling Bay’s Investment Committee, contributing to strategic decisions on capital deployment and portfolio growth. Since joining Sterling Bay in 2020, Richerson has overseen major initiatives such as the development of Pacific Center, a multi-block life science campus in San Diego, and Redtail Ridge, a 2.5 million-square-foot innovation district in Colorado.
Prior to Sterling Bay, Richerson spent 26 years at KBS Realty Advisors, where he served as Regional President overseeing all aspects of the firm’s portfolio in the western half of the United States. During his tenure, he managed approximately $5 billion in acquisition and development deal volume and played a key role in capital raising efforts, including the $1.2 billion IPO of Prime Office REIT on the Singapore Exchange. Earlier in his career, Richerson held leadership roles at Koll Cushman Realty Mexico, where he managed operations and finance for joint ventures in Mexico City, and worked on development projects with The Koll Company in Southern California.
Richerson is an active member of the commercial real estate community, serving on industry advisory groups and as a Board Member of NAIOP Southern California since 2017.
