Prior to forming Anchor Net Lease (formerly RDO Investments), Mr. O’Connell served as Vice President of Acquisitions for a privately held Real Estate Investment Trust based in Phoenix. During his tenure, the company closed greater than $300 million worth of single and multi-tenant offerings located throughout the US.
Prior to joining the Private REIT, Mr. O’Connell worked in Acquisitions for Cole Capital Partners in Phoenix, Arizona. At Cole, Mr. O’Connell closed in excess of $350 million worth of single and multi-tenant retail, office, and industrial assets in a two-year period. Within that time, he assisted in closing the company’s first private REIT offering in the amount of $100 million.
Prior to joining Cole in June 2004, Mr. O’Connell worked for the PetSmart Corporation at their corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. At PetSmart, he was responsible for site selection of new stores for the West Coast. Mr. O’Connell received an undergraduate degree from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix and has been an active participant with ICSC for the past 24 years.
Since starting RDO Investments in 2009, the company has transacted over $1.4 Billion dollars of Retail, Office and Industrial properties.
