Scott Hook is Senior Vice President for Marcus & Millichap. Mr. Hook is a leading expert in the sale of retail properties with a billion dollar track record. Mr. Hook is President of HOOK RETAIL ADVISORS, which specializes in exclusive representation of Sellers and Buyers in Single Tenant and Multi-Tenant Retail Properties throughout the Western United States, with emphasis on the Greater Southern California Region. Having sold over 500 commercial properties in the past 30 years, Mr. Hook has consistently delivered record sales prices for his Sellers, while securing opportunities for the Buyers he represents. Mr. Hook advises his clients on successful acquisition and disposition strategies and provides advisory services as to how to more effectively market and reposition his clients’ assets to maximize cash flow and disposition value. The primary focus are on assets which range in value $3-$25 million. Clientele include developers, financial institutions, and investors seeking security, diversification, value-add and mix use opportunities.
Prior to CBC, Mr. Hook served as the Senior Director of the National Retail Group at Marcus & Millichap, where he was consistently one of the Top Retail and Overall Agents in the Newport Beach office for 20 years. Mr. Hook was a Senior Marketing Consultant with the Grubb & Ellis Company, Newport Beach 1987-1993, where he concentrated on investment sales of retail properties in Orange County and was named “National Rookie of the Year”, and a “Top Ten Agent” for Southern California.
Mr. Hook graduated from the University Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance and Marketing, with additional studies in architecture at Cal Poly Pomona University and Cambridge University, England. Mr. Hook holds a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
