Shakee J. Merritt joined Trompeter Real Estate in 2022 after a short term at Option 1 Realty Group Commercial division, specializing in retail leasing, sales, and mix-use development by using thorough market analysis and knowledge transitioned into commercial real estate after several years in the public policy world and politics. Serving as the undergraduate Student Body President for Rutgers University.
With creativity and focus, Shakee Jahura helps owners and tenants maximize their space and retail capabilities through unique marketing strategies and build-out consultations. He represents tenants and landlords throughout New Jersey, mainly focusing on downtown markets such as Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken, and his hometown of Englewood.
Born in Englewood, New Jersey, Shakee has a passion for urban development and inner-city revitalization. Shakee continues to reside in Newark and is a key member of community development. Serving on the Rutgers Board of Advisors to Chancellors, Newark Pride, and Board of Community Advisors to Mayor Ras Baraka. Community Partner to the Newark Downtown District. Having a great community relationship has enabled Shakee to connect with retailers and owners.
