Shawana joined Adams Property Group in 2013 to oversee and manage the accounting operations of the company, including the maintenance of a system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets, and financial reports.
Shawana creates and implements accounting policies and procedures, oversees the Accounting department, and oversees the Human Resources department for the portfolio.
Shawana has over 2 decades experience in the real estate industry with expansive knowledge and skill set learned while she worked her way up to several high positions with national companies, including one as Vice President of Leasing where she oversaw over $9mm SF of retail development space in malls across the southeast.
Although Shawana has done everything in Real Estate from Leasing to Property Management, from Development to financials, the Accounting Department is where she feels most at home.
Shawana and her daughter, Gracie, relocated to the Charleston area from Georgia in 2017. She is an active member of her church and often spends weekends doing arts and crafts or listening to music with her daughter, or visiting with family, including her grown son, Daniel.
In her free time, Shawana can be found playing tennis or pool or going for a run around her neighborhood. She is amazingly organized and loves to cook for her family.
