Sherman Hinkebein is Executive Vice President of The Retail Connection in the San Antonio office. Hinkebein is a retail leasing specialist and was in the first graduating class to earn the professional accreditation as a Certified Leasing Specialist [CLS] from the International Council of Shopping Centers [ICSC].
Since 1993, Hinkebein has successfully completed over $432 million in retail leases and sales transactions. He specializes in representing many of the markets most prominent national and regional retailers such as Fitness
Connection, Bed Bath & Beyond, TopGolf and JoAnn’s.
Before joining The Retail Connection in March 2004, Hinkebein was an Executive Vice President for The Weitzman Group and was their statewide Top Producer
in 2003. Prior to joining The Weitzman Group, Hinkebein was Assistant Vice President at Grubb & Ellis where he was a consistent top producer. Before joining Grubb & Ellis, Hinkebein owned retail shoe stores in Indiana, which he later sold to Brown Shoe Company in 1985. His fifteen-year retail background owning a chain of retail stores gives him a valuable retailer’s perspective of the
deal-making process.
Hinkebein received an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Southern Methodist University.
