Sherrill specializes in land sales and acquisitions.
Sherrill is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Following graduation, he joined a national CPA firm, which is now part of Ernst & Young, serving on the audit and tax staffs for seven years. Sherrill then joined Washburn Graphics in Charlotte as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary. When Washburn merged in 1984 and became a subsidiary of Cadmus Communications Corporation in Richmond, Virginia, Sherrill became Vice President, Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer of Cadmus. In 1992, Sherrill joined McGuire Properties as a commercial broker handling primarily land sales and other commercial properties.
His activities have included membership in American Institute of CPA's; North Carolina Association of CPA's, serving as an officer of the Charlotte Chapter; American Society of Corporate Secretaries and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Board of Advisors. He has served on the Board of Directors of American Red Cross in Charlotte and Goodwill Industries. He also served as Chairman of the Red Cross Blood Program. In 1975, Sherrill was given Honorary Life Membership in the Charlotte Jaycees and was selected as one of ten Outstanding Young Men of Charlotte.
He was awarded Most Valuable Commercial Land Broker for 1997 through 2000 and again in 2002 by McGuire Properties. In 1999 and 2001, Sherrill was recognized as one of the top production leaders at McGuire Properties and as top production leader in 2002. He was also awarded the Multi-Million Dollar Sales Award for greater than $2 million in annual sales in 2001. In 2002, he was named Charlotte's Top Producer in Land Sales by the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors and he also received the Multi-Million Dollar Sales Award for greater than $10 million in annual sales. In 2003, Sherrill received a Silver Award for greater than $2 million in annual sales from the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors. He is a licensed broker in both North and South Carolina and a member of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors.
