Stephen Jaeger is the Founder and Managing Partner of Argonaut Investments, a privately held commercial real estate investment management firm focused on neighborhood and community shopping centers in the western United States. In his current role, Jaeger is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operations, including acquisitions, leasing, finance, development, asset management, dispositions, and investor relations. Since founding Argonaut Investments in 1992, he has overseen the acquisition and management of a diversified retail real estate portfolio totaling more than $750 million in assets under management, with over 4 million square feet of retail space. His work has centered on long-term ownership strategies and value enhancement through redevelopment and operational efficiencies across stabilized retail assets.
Prior to forming Argonaut Investments, Jaeger began his real estate career in 1988 at TRI Commercial Brokerage in San Francisco, where he completed more than 100 sale and lease transactions. This brokerage experience provided foundational exposure to retail leasing, investment sales, and market analysis, which later informed his investment approach as a principal. Over the course of his career, Jaeger has remained focused on retail-oriented real estate investment and management, maintaining continuity in both asset class and geographic focus. His professional background reflects a progression from brokerage to firm founder and managing partner, with no verified interim executive roles outside of Argonaut Investments.
