Mr. Olson directs the overall strategy in providing housing solutions for California’s metropolitan cities. He has over 35 years of experience in homebuilding and real estate finance. The Olson Company has won the Eliant Award in eight of the past ten years for Best Builder in North America.
Mr. Olson was also selected America’s Builder of the Year in 2000 by Professional Builder Magazine and has been honored by both state and city agencies for contributions made to in town affordable housing. Mr. Olson is a past 12-year member of the Los Angeles County Housing Board which advised the County on housing policy and planning issues. Mr. Olson received the Distinguished Alumnus Award by Pepperdine University and was further awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree for his various contributions to affordable housing and community development throughout California. He also was President and Chief Executive Officer of Signet Scientific Company, an international technology company focused on measurement and control systems for semiconductor, biotech, and environmental industries.
Mr. Olson received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands and his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. In addition to being Chairman of our Board, Mr. Olson is past Chairman and current member of the Board of Directors of the Aquarium of the Pacific, Flowline, Inc., ONX Winery and Pepperdine University. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Visitors of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy.
