Upon graduating from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, he began my real estate career with Sheldahl and Associates. Within his first year he was promoted to the position of Operations Manager. Over the next 10 years in this position Ted operated and assisted in the development of over $100 million dollars' worth of real estate comprised of over 600 apartments, approximately 250,000 square feet of class A and B commercial office and retail space and over 20 executive residential subdivisions. Additionally, he was responsible for all financial aspects of the company including budgeting, reporting and lender negotiations.
After 11 years of employment with Sheldahl and Associates, Ted left to become the Director of Operations of Newbury Management Company formerly known as Heartland Properties. Ted was directly responsible for the operations of over 2,500 residential rental units in Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota. Additionally, he operated approximately 50,000 Square feet of Class A commercial office space in West Des Moines.
From Newbury Management, Ted had an opportunity to purchase for myself a 28 apartment properties located throughout Iowa values at over 15 million dollars in November 2002. As part of this transaction, Ted started up a real estate brokerage and property management company. Since this original purchase, he continued to grow his portfolio with the purchase of additional real estate assets throughout Central Iowa.
