Terry Alexa joined Newmark Knight Frank in early 2012 as a senior managing director. Mr. Alexa brings over 40 years of notable real estate industry experience in corporate retail and shopping center retail development and specializes in leasing. Mr. Alexa has been brought on to expand Newmark Knight Frank’s retail portfolio by providing his expertise in retail leasing and shopping center development.
Mr. Alexa spent much of his career with Tri-Land Properties, Inc., a Chicago based retail development company, where he was involved with many facets of the company’s growth as vice president of leasing. He managed, trained and motivated the leasing team, and personally secured multiple real estate transactions ranging from 1,000 square feet to 150,000 square feet.
During his career, Mr. Alexa consummated transactions with many familiar retailers such as Dominick’s Finer Foods, Marsh Food Store, Lowe’s Home Improvement, T.J. Maxx, Kerasotes Theatres, Old Time Pottery, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Talbots, Famous Footwear, Big Lots, McDonald’s and Harris Bank.
A licensed real estate broker and an active industry leader, Mr. Alexa is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) as well as the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association.
Mr. Alexa received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Wisconsin.
