Bio
Born in San Francisco, Tony grew up in Tampa, Florida and has resided in Columbia, South Carolina since 2001. Joining IMIC Hotels in 2015, Tony is responsible for operations of all IMIC's hotels located throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida. Immediately prior to joining IMIC Hotels, Tony served as Chief Operating Officer and Asset Manager for Junson Hospitality, a private two-billion-dollar family equity investment capital group based in Chengdu, China. In that role, he oversaw all full-service hotel operations for their North American portfolio, including third-party management company selection, asset management, hotel site selection, product improvement planning, financial analysis, and market valuation.
Tony’s past experience also includes serving as Director of Operations and Area General Manager for the full-service Hilton Columbia Center Hotel, anchored by the 200-seat Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, the 60,000-square-foot University of South Carolina Alumni Center, and the 142,000-square-foot Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Tony has been deeply involved in both professional and civic leadership. His present and past civic involvement includes serving as President of the Columbia Hotel Association, Chairman of the Midlands Authority for Conventions, Sports, and Tourism, and holding board position with the City of Columbia Tax Advisory Committee, Columbia Urban League, Richland County Tax Accommodations Advisory Board, and the University of South Carolina Hospitality School. In addition, Tony is also past Chairman of the Executive Board of the South Carolina Hotel and Restaurant Association and a past Board Member of the University of South Carolina Educational Foundation.
In 2009, Tony was named South Carolina Hotel Manager of the Year by the Hospitality Association of South Carolina. He resides in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife, Kelly, and their two children, Abby (21) and Carter (17).
