W.J. (Jim) Funke began Clary Document Destruction in 1948 as a retailer of office equipment, primarily selling adding machines and cash registers. In the 1970's, Clary's product-line expanded to include the sale and service of office paper shredders. Since then, the sheer volume of documents needing destruction began to out-pace the capabilities of the humble paper shredding machine.
