La Caisse, officially known as Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), is a global institutional investor founded in 1965 by the National Assembly of Québec to manage funds primarily for public and parapublic pension and insurance plans. Headquartered in Montréal, La Caisse operates as a Crown corporation with a dual mandate: generate optimal long-term returns for its depositors and contribute to Québec’s economic development. As of June 30, 2025, La Caisse reported net assets of C$496 billion, making it Canada’s second-largest pension fund after CPP Investments.
