In 1946, two young brothers returned from serving their country in World War II and opened a real estate company in the garage of their parents' home in Mobile, Alabama. John and David Roberts were part of "The Greatest Generation" and through their work ethic, character, and entrepreneurial spirit, they formed a company to offer property ownership opportunities for thousands of Mobilians. In 2005, the company was purchased by HomeServices of America, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate. HomeServices, based in Minneapolis, the largest full-service independent residential real estate brokerage firm in the United States. Johnny Roberts, Jr., a second-generation Roberts family member is their proud Emeritus, serves as Company Chairman, while Teresa Williamson serves as President.
