The Shreveport Airport Authority is charged with the operation and maintenance of Shreveport Downtown Airport, a general aviation airport, and Shreveport Regional Airport, a commercial small hub airport. Both airports serve the citizens of Shreveport and the surrounding region, including North Louisiana, East Texas, and Southwest Arkansas. The Shreveport Airport Authority employs approximately 50 full-time employees in administration, maintenance/operations, and airport security. The Airport Authority generates all of its operating funds through the fees charged to the various tenants and clients of the airport system. No local tax dollars are used to support the Shreveport Airport Authority System.
