Stream Data Centers, founded in 1999 in Dallas, is a specialized developer, operator, and landlord of hyperscale data center campuses in the United States. Initially launched as the technical real estate division of Stream Realty Partners, it has expanded into a standalone platform delivering wholesale colocation, powered shells, and build-to-suit facilities for hyperscale and enterprise tenants. The company controls over 4?GW of powered land, with a development pipeline focused on Tier?1 and Tier?2 markets across Texas, Illinois, Minnesota, Colorado, Georgia, and more.
In August 2025, Apollo Global Management acquired a majority interest—transferring control from Stream Realty Partners while retaining the existing management team—enabling accelerated capital deployment into data center infrastructure and powered land development. Stream has built over 20 campuses, delivering innovative AI-ready designs, including liquid-cooling solutions, and emphasizes carrier-neutral, low-latency connectivity with renewable energy procurement strategies. The portfolio includes key campuses such as Chicago I & II, Minneapolis II, Phoenix, and ongoing large-scale developments in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and San Antonio.
With speculative builds and fully customizable shells, the strategy supports hyperscalers and enterprise users requiring mission-critical infrastructure. Stream’s positioning in fast-growing digital infrastructure markets, bolstered by Apollo’s capital, places it at the forefront of servicing AI and cloud-computing demands.
