The Stahl Organization is a privately held real estate investment and development firm founded in 1949 by Stanley Stahl. The firm operates a portfolio in excess of five million square feet of commercial space and 3,000 residential units concentrated primarily in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The organization's holdings are divided across office properties, condominium developments, and residential rental buildings. The portfolio is heavily concentrated in Manhattan at approximately 95% by dollar value, with office properties representing 37% of square footage and condominiums comprising 36%. The firm also owns Apple Bank for Savings, which Stanley Stahl acquired in 1990, and Cauldwell Wingate Company, a general contractor that has built several of the organization's developments including The Laureate, The Apple Bank Condominium, and 388 Bridge Street. Co-presidents Gregg Wolpert and Richard Czaja manage the organization and have each been with the company for more than 20 years. The Stahl Organization has been active in New York City real estate for over seven decades with developments including The Apple Bank Condominium in Manhattan, The Brooklyn Trust Company Building, The Laureate, and L Haus in Queens. Recent financing activity includes a $750 million refinancing from Deutsche Bank for 101 East 47th Street in Midtown East in August 2024, and a December 2025 acquisition of the leasehold interest in Boeing's former Chicago headquarters at 100 North Riverside Plaza for $22 million in partnership with Hines.
