Winchester Cold Storage Company was organized in 1917 to provide cold storage for the growing apple industry in the Winchester area. Additional buildings were built in 1922 and 1929, bringing their total capacity up to 1.3 million bushels. At times, they were reported to be the largest apple storage facility in the world! Integrating computers enabled them to track their inventory much more efficiently. They strive to stay current with modern technology, keeping both their software and their systems up to date. They continue to strive to be a leader in Third Party Logistics. With a larger focus on technology, they will be able to expand the number of value added services they are able to provide their customers.
