This building was originally a Taylor Rental Center which was built in the late 1970s. Taylor sold out to Hertz Rental, and then Hertz change their name to Herc Rentals, and went from a full-service rental center involving everything from wedding China to chainsaws to strictly equipment. Mostly heavy equipment and logistics equipment. In November 2023, they left the premises to move to a much larger facility. The same month southeastern Equipment moved in and set up shop. They spent an inordinate amount of money on fixing it up, cleaning it up, painting and up and adding new amenities. They signed a five-year starting on November 1, 2023, and vacated the premises for reasons of their own on December 31,2025. The building is in extremely good condition and it is situated on a long and narrow double tiered lot which measures right at three usable acres, all of which is fenced. It is located off the brand-new Jefferson Road upgrade in South Charleston, which may traffic going from US 119 south to Interstate 64 W. and East at least 15 times better than it has been for the last 25 years. They paved the access road from the turnoff and made 1/5 Lane for easy access going south and north on Jefferson Road. The property is located in the town of South Charleston, West Virginia, and because of this incredible new highway that was put in place, access coming and going is extremely good and one could be in all parts of the Kanawha Valley in a matter of minutes. While the actual location is somewhat sequestered below the road, Hertz never complained about it, and what is proof positive is that their business was sustained all those years to where they could go from a 7200 square-foot building to a 50,000 square-foot building on 8 acres. Southeastern equipment was poised to take over a lot of the business that Hertz might've left, but they change their business plan midstream and decided that Charleston was not a location for what they wanted to do. This is an industrial equipment facility with four overhead doors in the front and a side door on the side. It has fairly high ceilings and the parts department and the new offices along with the counter in front have been tastefully redecorated. Additionally, there is a 2000 square-foot more or less auxiliary rebuilding at the end of the property which both companies used to do slightly off premise work while they were there.
