In the United States, the On the Run convenience store brand is owned by TMC Franchise Corporation (TMC), a subsidiary of Alimentation Couche-Tard (ACT), a Canadian convenience store company. TMC has granted an exclusive license to use the brand in over 46 states to Parkland (U.S.) Holding Corp., a subsidiary of Parkland, a Canadian fuel company that owns the brand in Canada. ACT and its affiliates own, operate, and/or license other convenience store brands including Circle K, Couche-Tard, Macs, Kangaroo Express, and Corner Store. ACT acquired the On the Run sites and brand name in the U.S. in 2009. Today, the majority have been converted to Circle K company-operated sites, but a number of On the Run franchise locations remain open in various parts of the U.S.
