The Ladybower Inn is a traditional stone-built property believed to date back to the 18th century when it operated as a coaching inn, serving the travellers on the A57, the Sheffield to Glossop Turnpike. The pub has been refurbished to a high standard and benefits from an open plan trading area with a central timber bar servery opposite the main entrance. There are 64 covers throughout, with fixed booth and freestanding seating and feature fireplaces at either end of the trading area. The Ladybower also benefits from Ladies & Gents W.C.s, a large equipped commercial kitchen with 2 x 6 ring burners and a walk in cold room; a good-sized basement beer cellar and several additional storage rooms. The letting accommodation is located in a separate block which houses 7 ensuite letting rooms. The newly refurbished rooms comprise 4x standard double rooms, 1x Twin room room 4, 1x large family room with a double bed and 2 single beds and a self-contained family/easy access room with private bathroom and shower. To the exterior, there is a sunny beer patio with picnic bench seating and a dry-stone walled beer garden – both have stunning views over the reservoir and surrounding countryside. Opposite the pub is the good-sized car park with space for c.40 cars and is licensed for campervans.

The Ladybower Inn stands alone on the main A57, Manchester Road, in the centre of the Peak District National Park. The pub overlooks the famous Ladybower Reservoir and the village of Bamford lies approximately 2 miles to the south. There is a primary school and a few small shops in Bamford and a number of other popular villages such as Hope, Hathersage and Castleton are also close by. Sheffield is situated approximately 10.5 miles to the east, Glossop 13 miles north west and Buxton 15 miles south west. The historic villages of Derwent and Ashopton were famously flooded when the construction of Ladybower Reservoir was completed in 1943. It is now a popular tourist attraction in the High Peak district attracting over 2 million visitors a year. It is associated with the training of the Dambusters of World War Two. The area is popular with walkers, with several well-known walks available around the reservoir. Cyclists also frequent the area, with fishing and sailing also taking place on the water.
