The property as a whole comprises 6,176 m2, divided into: old manor house (300 m2), old winery and oil mill (1,500 m2), chapel (71 m2), office building (311 m2), and a modern winery (3,694 m2). The estate has a production capacity of 1.5 million liters, 170 barrels, and an international-standard bottling line capable of producing 3,000 bottles per hour, with its sales mainly focused on foreign markets. In addition, it features offices, a tasting room, a shop, production areas, and a laboratory for full winemaking operations.
Bodegas Vivanza has its origins in the late 19th century, when Doña Josefa Verdú, a passionate winegrower, produced high-quality wines on the slopes of Mount Carche. Her wines were exported to the United States and Cuba and even received the Medal of Honor at the Chicago World’s Fair in 1892. Today, the winery preserves that legacy by combining tradition with modern facilities, including a 19th-century manor house, an old winery and oil mill, and a chapel, together with a state-of-the-art factory built in 2009.
“La Alberquilla” estate covers around 220 hectares in the Sierra del Carche, between Jumilla and Pinoso, with vineyards under the Jumilla and Alicante D.O. appellations. It grows both red and white varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Verdil, along with almond groves, olive trees, and forest land. With ideal orientation, altitude, soil, and climate, supported by modern irrigation systems and its own reservoir, the estate guarantees premium grapes that give rise to Vivanza’s high-end wines.
