In June 2025, the City of New Haven Board of Education formally declared two former public-school buildings surplus and returned them to the care and custody of the City for redevelopment. The City is now soliciting qualified development teams/investors to submit redevelopment proposals, including qualifications, conceptual plans, and financing strategies, through a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) process.
