Phil Roper has more than 40 years of experience in the construction and real estate development industry, and his career has spanned multiple companies and every asset class. He co-founded R&M General Repair Company, Inc., a residential construction business, in 1983, then launched Whittle Roper Realtors, a brokerage company, in 1986.
In 2001, Phil and partner George Emerson co-founded Emerson-Roper Companies, LLC. Under that shingle, he served as the design builder for the Virginia Commonwealth University Foundation’s seven-floor classroom and office building at 912 Grace Street, Richmond, VA 23220, as well as The Square at 406 Shafer Street, Richmond, VA 23220, both of which were completed between 2012 and 2014.
In 2006, Phil established Plus Management, an affiliate company that continues to develop, own, and operate properties in various asset classes, with a primary focus on apartment communities and retail developments.
Throughout his career, Phil has developed and owns office buildings, shopping centers, industrial parks, and residential communities, including more than 3,000 apartment units. He is a member of the National Association of Home Builders and is registered in Apartment Management.
