RÉSUMÉ DE L'ANNONCE
The Property comprises a series of interlinked buildings developed over time. The original inn, over 300 years old, is a two-storey stone building with painted render and a pitched slate roof.
A unique position set in the heart of perhaps Scotland’s most famous and scenic glen, next door to the area where extensive, on location filming of Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban was shot in 2003.
Clachaig Inn is located just half a mile off the A82, the main artery road from Glasgow and the Central Belt through to Fort William, the north west Highlands and gateway to the islands.
The inn shares its name with Clachaig Gully, a deep cleft in the mountainside which rises from just over the old coaching road for over 3000 feet to the summit of Sgur nam Fiannaidh, Scotland’s 187th highest Munro.
Clachaig is a former coaching inn, located on the old road to Glencoe village. In places where the newer (20th century) A82 has been built away from the coaching road, long sections are still to be found throughout the glen and over Rannoch Moor.
Glencoe village is just two miles away with the old slate quarrying village of Ballachulish with more local amenities just a mile further on. Fort William is 20 miles to the north along the A82 while the ferry terminal town of Oban is approximately 35 miles to the south.
