Christian Marent, Executive Vice President
Christian Marent joined CBRE (formerly Insignia/ESG) in June 2002 as part of a team spearheading the company's expansion of services in Silicon Valley to include tenant representation, corporate services, industrial services and investment brokerage.

Christian has specialized in the sale and leasing Office/R&D institutionally-owned properties in Sunnyvale/ Santa Clara, San Jose, Milpitas and Fremont since 1986, when he joined Bishop Hawk, Inc. (which was subsequently acquired by Grubb & Ellis in 1998).

Major projects he has represented as exclusive agent include the Siemens Rolm Campus, ±497,638 SF, in Santa Clara; Stevenson Pointe Tech Park, ±351,000 SF in Fremont; McCandless Technology Park, ±345,000 SF, in Milpitas; and Dixon Landing Park, ±400,000 SF, in Milpitas, McCarthy Center, 1,100,000 SF, in Milpitas.
Mark Schmidt, Senior Managing Director
Mark is responsible for overseeing all strategic planning, business development, recruiting, and transaction services in the Silicon Valley.  He has been with CBRE (formerly Insignia/ESG, Inc.) since 1995 through the acquisition of O’Donnell Property Services.  Mark began his career as a broker with Coldwell Banker (now known as CBRE) in the Silicon Valley Office in 1984.

In addition to managing the CBRE Silicon Valley Office, Mark assists institutional clients in acquiring or disposing assets for their Silicon Valley portfolios.  He also oversees an agency leasing portfolio of 6 million square feet throughout the Silicon Valley.  Mark has also assisted several Fortune 500 companies acquire or dispose of property throughout the Silicon Valley.
Ben Knight, Executive Vice President
Ben Knight joined the CBRE Silicon Valley office in 2008. He specializes in representing Fortune 500 corporations, high-growth start-ups, institutional owners and private developers in the leasing and sale of Office and R&D property throughout Silicon Valley. Ben advises clients to assist in the development and execution of strategies that align real estate decisions with business performance and management objectives.

Over his career, he has been responsible for completing in excess of 12M SF of transactions and recognized by the ASVB for Silicon Valley’s “Deal of the Year,” nominated for Silicon Valley Broker of the Year (Industrial), and has consistently ranked in ASVB’s Top-25 CRE Agents in Silicon Valley (#21 in 2022, #22 in 2021, #7 in 2020). Ben has been honored as “40 under 40” by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

Clients have included The Irvine Company, Blackstone / EQ Office, Deutsche Asset Management, DRA Advisors, DivcoWest, Prologis, Bixby Land Co., TPG Capital, Kennedy Wilson, Overton-Moore Properties, Hewlett-Packard, Philips Electronics, Delta Products, SteelWave, Westcore Properties, Four Corners Properties, Westbrook Partners, Texas Instruments, and TMG Partners.

A native of Palo Alto, Ben earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in Washington, D.C., where he subsequently worked in the management consulting industry. At the Corporate Executive Board (Now Gartner), he was part of a team that launched a B2B business services practice providing strategy, research, and advisory services to C-level executives of public and private companies.

In his free time, Ben enjoys mountain biking, golf, snowboarding, reading, and travel.
