Mariko Tanaka joined Cushman & Wakefield in 2025 as an Associate in the Retail Services division. Ms. Tanaka has experience working with tenants, principals, and landlords in Manhattan, New York. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Ms. Tanaka graduated Wesleyan University in May 2024. Following her graduation, she worked as an Associate Broker at Meridian Capital Group for their Retail Leasing Division in New York where she completed 12 transactions totaling over 26,000 square feet in her first year.
Ms. Tanaka speaks both Japanese and Mandarin, enabling her to lead cross-border and culturally nuanced negotiations. She’s worked on accounts such as Zhoumapo and Tokuyamatcha & Onigirazu where language fluency were essential to the successful execution of lease transactions. Ms. Tanaka majored in East Asian Studies (Political Economy concentration) and Digital Design at Wesleyan University. She was also a member of the Varsity Volleyball team and the Asian American Student Collective.
